heatwaves and dog health

The study will investigate if heatwaves increase mortality and hospitalisation in dogs in the greater Sydney region.  It will determine if mortality / morbidity in dogs is increased on days of unusually higher temperatures. It will provide public health messages on the risks from heatwaves in dogs.

chronic noise and dog welfare

This is a new and important research project that will commence in 2018. It explores the impact of chronic infrasound noise exposure on the health and welfare of dogs. More information to follow.

Boat noise and seal behaviour 

Our research shows that louder boat noise is associated with more aggressive interactions between seals. As well as a greater response in seals as the noise gets louder.

The study recommends that received levels of boat noise at breeding fur seal colonies is below 74dB.
